Iowa athletics, lottery won't renew partnership

IOWA -- As reported by Iowa City-Press Central: "...The University of Iowa athletic department and the Iowa Lottery have let their contract expire and are not renewing it by mutual agreement.
"'Mutually, we agreed for the coming year, we just wouldn't talk about a contract,' UI Athletics Director Gary Barta said. 'We didn't have to take any action. We had a contract that was expiring, we let it expire and we'll see where it goes from there.'
"The decision, however, doesn't mean the Iowa Lottery and the UI athletic department will never again pursue a corporate partnership..."
