Intertops.com Releases Oscar Odds
ST. JOHN'S, Antigua – (Press Release) -- Its Oscar time again! The team at Internet bookmaker Intertops.com have been studying the form on the silver screen to bring the best odds on Hollywood's creme de la creme. See the stars say cheese at the Kodak theatre on February 29, 2004!
Perhaps an Oscar for the numbest nether region should be awarded? Is that in a region in Middle Earth? Yes, those pesky Hobbits are back, but will they sweep the floor and prove that nobody's bored of the rings just yet? Even after they returned in a 3 1/2-hour epic extravaganza, their odds are 1/2 for Best Picture and 1/2 Best Director. Will we see a Hobbit in Petit Versace? Not true to his form is Seabiscuit as a long shot coming in last at 15/1.
Someone's gotta give Diane Keaton an Oscar for Best Actress at 3/4, she's been around for years and now it's a chance for the oldies but goldies, shame Jack isn't up there as well! Bill Murray is favorite for Best Actor, 5/4, for his performance in Lost in Translation, which could also see Francis Ford Coppola's daughter, Sofia, stopping the Return of the King as Best Picture at 3/2 and Best Director at 2/1.
"We're all big movie fans here at Intertops.com and always enjoy making odds on the Oscars," said Intertops.com Chief Bet Manager Michael Maerz. "Last year Chicago picked up six awards, this year there's a great mix of nominations for serious film buffs.
"An epic such as Lord of the Rings deserves to receive several nominations, so it should be worth a bet, and it would be an appropriate end to the trilogy," he added. "Oscar's night is great entertainment and we love offering added excitement for our customers with some fantastic bet offers."
