Illinois License Finalists Make Pitches
ILLINOIS – As reported by the Chicago Tribune: "…Details of the plan for Biloxi, Miss.-based Isle of Capri Casinos were outlined as each of the three finalists vying for the state's last casino license made presentations to the Illinois Gaming Board.
"…The other two finalists are Harrah's Entertainment, which is working with S-L Partners to build in Waukegan, and Midwest Gaming & Entertainment, headed by developer Neil Bluhm, who wants to build a casino in Des Plaines.
"Isle of Capri, which bid $351 million, said Rosemont's proximity to O'Hare International Airport would enable the company to draw large crowds and generate an estimated $2.6 billion in revenue over five years.
"…Midwest Gaming, which bid $360 million, would share about $7.1 million annually with 10 communities, including Summit, officials said.
"…Harrah's, which bid $375 million, would share $4.8 million with four Lake County communities and some schools…"
