IGT Rating May Be Raised
NEW YORK – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Moody's Investors Service New York Moody's Investors Service placed the ratings of International Game Technology (IGT) on review for possible upgrade. The review for upgrade is prompted by the company's improved debt protection measures resulting from debt repayment and higher earnings and cash flow, as well as a favorable demand outlook for the company's gaming products. Moody's review will focus on the sustainability of future demand drivers, such as proliferation of gaming within existing and new jurisdictions, demand for Class II gaming machines, IGT's acquisition appetite and its commitment to maintaining its improved financial profile in the context of its strategic and financial policy objectives. Ratings placed on review for possible upgrade: Senior unsecured bonds and debentures at Baa3. Based in Reno, Nevada, International Game Technology is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of computerized casino gaming products. The company generated revenues of $2.1 billion during its 2003 fiscal year.
