IGT granted judgement against Aristocrat Technologies

RENO, Nevada – (PRESS RELEASE) -- International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT) announced today that it was granted summary judgment in a patent infringement lawsuit against Aristocrat Technologies. Aristocrat's patent, US Patent No. 6,093,102, was declared invalid. Aristocrat had alleged that IGT's Multiway(R) video slot games, including Aztec Temple(R) and Carnival of Mystery(R) video slot games, infringed the patent which was held invalid.

"IGT believes strongly in the United States patent system and respects the valid intellectual property rights of others. We are pleased that our position has been vindicated," said Stephen W. Morro, IGT's President - Gaming Division.

The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada on June 30, 2005. Judge Brian E. Sandoval entered an Order granting IGT's motion for summary judgment on April 20, 2007. Final judgment in favor of IGT was entered on April 23, 2007. The plaintiffs in the lawsuit were Aristocrat Technologies Australia PTY Limited and its US subsidiary, Aristocrat Technologies, Inc.
