Ho's hearing could affect PBL Vegas plans
LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- The Australian: "Pansy Ho, daughter of Macau gambling billionaire Stanley Ho, is to give evidence next week before Nevada Gaming regulators, who are considering her suitability as a partner for the US casino company MGM Mirage.
"The hearing could have implications for any plans by James Packer's PBL to expand into Las Vegas, given his Macau joint venture with Pansy's brother Lawrence.
"…PBL's links with Lawrence Ho were only given the go-ahead by gaming regulators in Victoria and Western Australia after they had spent $US900 million ($US1.142 billion) buying their own casino licence from Las Vegas casino magnate Steve Wynn instead of their initial plans to operate in Macau under Stanley Ho's licence.
"If the Pansy Ho/MGM Mirage joint venture were approved by US gaming authorities, it would mean three of the six official licence holders of casinos in Macau would have links with Las Vegas…"
