Help figuring a slot payout

I've looked everywhere and can not seem to find the answer to this question.

I love to play the Orchid Mist and Chicken Pick'n slot machines made by Aristocrat. They are really the same game just with different graphics.

I can't for the life of me figure out the pay out. Last night, I was playing Chicken Pick'n and won a jackpot. I was playing the max bet of 100 nickels (10 lines at 10 times). I got four wilds on line #5 and was paid 70,900 nickels for that line alone (73,000 total)! The confusion is that the pay chart shows 4 wilds pays at 5,000 times your bet so I thought that it should have been 50,000. I asked the slot rep when she came but she didn't know. We thought that maybe it paid for 3 wilds in three different combinations and the combination for 2 wilds but we looked over the payout chart and couldn't find anything that would explain the payout amount. The pay chart shows 3 wilds pays 500 times your bet and 2 wilds pays 20 times your bet.

This is the second time that I've had 4 wilds but the last time was a few years ago and I was so happy to win that I didn't pay attention.

I've also had 3 wilds with a "9" a few months ago. That paid 7,780. And 4 wilds with a "A" that paid 9,580. Four "9s" pays 25 times your bet and four "A's" pays 250 times your bet so I have no idea how the payouts added up to what they did.

I've tried searching for an answer with no luck. Do you have any idea how they came up with the payouts as they did?

Dear Diane,

I couldn't find the Chicken Pick'n or Orchid Mist pay table online, so I can only give some suggestions as to how the payout was calculated.

I think we can figure out why the combination was worth 70,900 by answering two questions. First, what was the fifth symbol on the payline? And second, for what symbols can a wild stand?

Four wilds pay 5000 times your line bet, but I think the wilds were able to substitute for the fifth symbol on the payline and what you really landed was five of that symbol.

It seems very strange, though, to have a combination that pays 7090 times your line bet. Are you sure you received 70,900 on that payline?
