Harrah's Tops IT List
LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- For the eighth consecutive year, Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:HET) was selected as one of the best places to work for information technology professionals by IDG's Computerworld.
Harrah's was ranked No. 22 in this year's 'Best Places to Work' survey, which is based on the responses of more than 20,000 IT professionals. Harrah's is the only organization to be ranked in the Top 25 for eight consecutive years in the history of the 'Best Places to Work' survey.
The honor came just days after Harrah's captured three other prestigious IT awards. Earlier this month, CIO magazine named Harrah's to its "CIO 100" - an annual listing of 100 organizations from around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology. In addition, Harrah's recently received a "Stevie Award" for Best MIS & IT Organization in the 2006 American Business Awards - a competition often referred to as "the Oscars of the business world."
Also in June, Tim Stanley, Harrah's senior vice president and chief information officer, was named by InfoWorld magazine to the "CTO 25" -- an annual listing of the nation's 25 most influential chief technology and chief information officers.
No other gaming company was recognized in any of the four competitions.
"Receiving four of the business world's most prestigious IT awards in a single month is an incredible honor, and is a tribute to the skill and dedication of our information technology team," said Tim Wilmott, chief operating officer of Harrah's. "Our investments in technology and skilled, innovative IT professionals give us the strategic operational and customer-relationship management capabilities we need to provide our millions of guests with memorable, differentiated experiences every time they visit one of our casinos. Our proprietary tools -- including Total Rewards -- are now in place at the former Horseshoe Gaming and Caesars Entertainment properties, positioning us to continue our strong track record of organic growth.
"It is truly a pleasure to congratulate Tim Stanley and our entire IT team on their tremendous accomplishments and their contributions to our success," Wilmott said.
