Harrah's Signs Deal with Paris Art Gallery

19 Oct 2005

SINGAPORE – As reported by the Singapore Today: " Harrah's Entertainment and Keppel Land have turned to the Centre Pompidou of Paris to boost the cultural quotient of their integrated Singapore resort proposal.

After doing a lot of research, we found the partnership with Centre Pompidou most suitable to create something totally unique and compelling for Singapore.' .

"Centre Pompidou, named after former French President Georges Pompidou, houses about 56,000 works of art, including Europe's most important collection of modern and contemporary art. While details of the concept have yet to be worked out — such as the size, scale and name of the cultural centre — Mr Mirman said both parties would be joining forces to create a world-class concept that was 'uniquely Singapore'. .

"Mr Bruno Racine, Centre Pompidou president, said this standalone component of the Harrah's-Keppel Land IR bid could be the first overseas centre for the cultural institution outside of Europe…"
