Harrah's Eyes More Atlantic City Investments

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by Reuters: "Harrah's Entertainment Inc. (NYSE:HET), which has begun a $550 million expansion at one of its Atlantic City casinos, plans to invest further in the New Jersey gambling haven, the company's chief executive said on Thursday.

"Atlantic City, which is trying to reinvent itself as an entertainment destination along the lines of Las Vegas, can handle about 8,000 more hotel rooms, Chief Executive Gary Loveman said at the ground-breaking for the expansion at Harrah's Atlantic City.

"The new entertainment complex at Harrah's Atlantic City will expand the casino's gaming and other facilities and will feature a 964-room hotel tower, which is expected to open in the second quarter of 2008.

"…Harrah's, the world's biggest casino operator which acquired Caesars Entertainment last June, is in the midst of several developments and projects, both in the United States and abroad…"
