Harrah's Atlantic City lights up the runway with Battle of the Bras
22 Oct 2013
"Caesars Entertainment prides itself on being the leader in corporate social responsibility, not only here in the greater Atlantic City region, but all over the United States," said Rick Mazer, regional president and general manager of Harrah's Resort Atlantic City. "Breast Cancer touches too many lives, a great number of whom are in our own Caesars family, which is why it is so important that we as a community show our support in the fight to find a cure."
The competition will be the showpiece of the company's month-long initiative to raise awareness of preventative health and treatment of breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The fashion show is comprised of bras designed by employees that will dawn beads, poker chips, lights, sequins, boa feathers, words of inspiration, etc. These uniquely hand-crafted designs will then be strutted, shimmied and walked with pride down the runway where employees and guests vote and bid on their favorites.
"Events such as Battle of the Bras showcase the dedication of our HERO volunteers who continue to work tirelessly through the years alongside our corporate colleagues and with the Caesars Foundation to help raise more than $3.5 million for cancer-related organizations," Mazer added.
Adding a deeper measure of importance to each participating property's awareness activities, Caesars Foundation will be dividing a total of $25,000 to the top three participating properties in an enterprise awareness contest awarding $10,000 to first place, $8,000 for second place and $7,000 for third place to be donated to their local American Cancer Society or a cancer-related organization. The competition kicks off at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door, where guests have access to free, passed appetizers, a cash bar and a variety of prizes be given away throughout the night. Must be over 21 with ID.
