LONDON, England -- GVC Holdings has upped its bid for Bwin.party in the ongoing bidding war to takeover the company, The Guardian reported.

GVC's rival in the bidding process is 888 who offered £900m, the report explained.

GVC Holdings new offer involves cash and shares to the amount of just over £1bn, The Guardian said.
