GTECH signs long-term Oregon contract

PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Lottomatica S.p.A. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, GTECH Corporation, has signed a new long-term contract with the Oregon State Lottery to provide and implement a new online and instant-ticket lottery system, terminals, and ongoing services, following a competitive procurement process. The seven-year integrated services contract will commence in September 2008, and includes options to renew for up to three years. GTECH expects to receive revenues of approximately euro 50 million over the contract term, commencing in 2008.

"It is notable that the procurement placed an emphasis on the quality of the proposed technological solution, and, as such, is a strong indication of the emerging value of GTECH's IMAGINE terminals, and is also validation of the Company's Enterprise Series solution package."

Under the terms of the new contract, GTECH will replace the Lottery's existing online lottery system and terminals with GTECH's Enterprise Series(TM) solution and approximately 3,100 IMAGINE(TM) terminals. GTECH will also provide the Lottery with approximately 430 Lottery To Go(TM) machines (formerly GamePoint), a combination instant ticket and online lottery product vending machine. The Company will provide ongoing services to the Lottery such as installation and maintenance of the new central system and terminals; retailer training; marketing support; hotline management; and field service. GTECH will maintain its data center in Salem, Oregon, with a backup data center located in Austin, Texas.
