GSA Hits the Road in Europe at ICE 2005

7 Dec 2004

LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- With worldwide membership now exceeding 75, the Gaming Standards Association (GSA) will bring its new, landmark standards to Europe, exhibiting for the first time at the International Casino Exhibition (I.C.E.) in London this January. The trade show takes place January 25-27, at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London.

GSA will be in booth #2920. GSA's booth will feature the most recent information on its gaming standards and supporting tools. Attendees can get details on how to profit from the standards that GSA's technical committees have delivered to the industry. There will be PowerPoint presentations of all GSA standards: Best of Breed (BOB), Gaming Device Standard (GDS) and System-to-System (S2S). Actual hardcopies will be available for review at the booth.

In addition to its booth, GSA will conduct four informational sessions. The first session takes place on January 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This session, which is open to the public, will present a general overview of GSA and will feature discussions by GSA President Peter DeRaedt and several Technical Committee Chairs.

The second session, also on January 25, will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and offer a live demonstration of the BOB Development Suite created by GSA, which provides support to the adopters of GSA standards. Later that day, GSA will address European Operators to inform them how GSA standards give them the freedom of choice they have been looking for. They will learn how GSA standards provide the means for greater operational efficiencies and control over their operations. This session takes place from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is targeted to operators only.

On January 26, a members-only session will present a detailed technical update on S2S and BOB. This session assumes a technical background and will be conducted by GSA's BOB and S2S Technical Committee Chairs. GSA will be looking for additional European volunteers to participate in the standards development process moving forward.

For additional details on these sessions, please visit GSA at booth #2920 or go to http://www.gamingstandards.com.

DeRaedt said, "Gaming continues to evolve and spread across the world, and our membership is keeping pace with that growth. We have made tremendous strides in our standards this past year, as we have stayed focused on our deliverables. We have enjoyed a very unique and unprecedented cooperation between operators and manufacturers, and we are excited to present our results to Europe, where we will strive to obtain the same level of support."
