Greenwood adds £110,400 to poker tournament resume

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The fourth event of the inaugural British Poker Open has been won by Canadian tournament super star Sam Greenwood, twin brother of Luc who won the opening event of the series. Greenwood added £110,400 to his stellar tournament resume that now totals $20.3 million which puts him 25th all-time.

From the winner: “I registered, went on this crazy heater and won every all-in basically,” said Greenwood moments after his victory. “It happens a lot in Short Deck; people go from having all the chips to having no chips. I spun 100,000 up to 1.5 million. On the bubble, there was intricate finesse to it, then I cracked Cary’s aces and it was just the easiest tournament I’ve played in a long time!”

“Winning any event is great. Everyone who plays poker tournament got into them because of the competition element so any time you can win one is just a great feeling. There’s no second guessing when you win and you’ll sleep great at night.”

The final table started with five players and Danny Tang was unfortunate to bust out on the bubble. Cary Katz busted in fourth for £24,000 when he ran aces into the queen-ten of Sam Greenwood who made two pair. Anson Tsang busted in third when Greenwood made trip kings and a few hands later the tournament was over. Flink made a straight against Greenwood’s flush to end the tournament.
