Golden Nugget Las Vegas presents Friday Football Showdown Contest

(PRESS RELEASE) -- For a third season in a row, Golden Nugget - Las Vegas is bringing back its popular Friday Football Showdown contest at their recently renovated Race and Sportsbook.

Hosted by The Las Vegas Sportsline, airing on ESPN Radio, contestants make selections against the spread from all NFL sides and totals and all college sides and totals posted on Golden Nugget contest sheets. After 12 weeks, the top 16 contestants will advance to the second round and a head-to-head bracket portion of the contest until the week 17 championship match when a winner is determined.

"This is what sets us apart from other football contests," said Golden Nugget Director of Race and Sports Tony Miller. "Locals and visitors alike enjoy the selection process and appreciate the competitiveness that comes from the head-to-head contests. Our contest allows contestants to designate up to two proxies to make plays in their place. It's going to be a very exciting football season at Golden Nugget."

In addition to the Friday Football Showdown Contest, the Race and Sports Book recently launched their Golden Nugget Sports Wagering App. Developed with Miomni Gaming, the Golden Nugget Sports Wagering App offers bettors the comfort and convenience of being able to make wagers and bets from anywhere in the state of Nevada. The mobile app is available for regular sports bets and wagers but does not include placing picks for the Friday Football Showdown Contest.
