Global Cash Access changes name to Everi Holdings

Las Vegas-based Global Cash Access announced its new name Thursday, saying the company will be known as Everi Holdings Inc. starting Aug. 24.

The name change, which was announced during the company's second quarter earnings, reflects its move from providing just payment processing and financial services to casinos. Last year, the company bought slot machine maker Multimedia Games for $1.2 billion.

Global Cash will begin trading as "EVRI" on the New York Stock Exchange starting Aug. 24.

In a statement, Global Cash CEO Ram Chary said the company wants its casino clients to think of the business as a "full-service casino gaming equipment and payment solutions provider."
