This is the first time that Getty Images has worked in the world of poker and will be tasked with photographing all of the action on the felt when the world’s best poker players descend on Palms Casino Resort. As the official photography agency, Getty Images will be granted all-access accreditation to cover five Inaugural Season Epic Poker League tournament events, including the first event that took place last month and the second event launching on Sept. 6.
“We are delighted to announce this partnership with Epic Poker League,” said Peter Orlowsky, vice president of business development at Getty Images. “This new professional poker league features the best live tournament players in the world and our photographers will be capturing all the excitement and drama at Palms Casino Resort. The breadth of images that we will be able to offer our customers immediately after the events will be truly fantastic and visually stunning.”
The Epic Poker League Inaugural Season at Palms Casino Resort includes four rake-free $20,000 Main Events, each with $400,000 in added money, and a $1,000,000 freeroll Championship Event for the top 27 players in the League. The four professional league main events will feature different formats of No-Limit Texas Hold’em, including six-handed play, a heads-up tournament with an innovative seeding structure and a special multi-format tournament to round out the season. Each event week will include a Pro-Am event, a charity tournament, and a $20,000 buy-in rake-free main event.
“Getty Images is the premier photography agency in the world and we’re excited to offer our league members and the poker industry exposure through their strong reach and distribution,” said Katherine Kowal, vice president of programming and league operations for Federated Sports + Gaming. “Many leading sports leagues are in partnership with Getty Images and now Epic Poker is part of its best-in-class portfolio.”
