GERMANY -- Germany is relaxing its state monopoly on gambling services, Deutsche-Welle reported.Currently the state operates all gambling and betting services, but a European Court of Justice ruling upheld that Germany's monopoly was "unjustified", the report said.
Germany will open the market to private providers, but there will be strict restrictions including no live betting during sports events and no television advertising of gambling companies, Deutsche-Welle reported.
