German player wins PokerStars Sunday Million 8th Anniversary Event

There were six-figure paydays for all the final table players, but the lion’s share of the cash was reserved for players from Germany, as a trio of players from the country finished first, second and eighth for more than $2 million in combined cashes.
With no deal done until heads-up, the first and second payouts were huge, with ‘DrUPSWING’, who had been the massive chip leader throughout the final table, eventually able to take the title when his trip twos held against ‘hdjgkfkgsdl’s flush draw.

A total of 46,586 players bought into the $215 tournament, which generated a prize pool of $9,317,200 that was shared out between 5,997 players. For a full tournament report, check out the PokerStars Blog.
It is the fourth biggest Sunday Million ever, with the record still belonging to the one held in honour of PokerStars’ 10th Anniversary in December 2011. That tourney saw 62,116 players generate a record prize pool of $12,423,200, and was won by ‘First-Eagle’ from Canada for $1,146,574.65.
