German F1 Fans Most Accurate at Predicting Results
The figures come from GrandPrixGame.com, whose players can win more than £15,000 ($21,000) for predicting the correct order of the first six finishers of this weekend's European Grand Prix.
Over the last four races, Bahrain, San Marino, Barcelona and Monaco, players from the home of current world champion Michael Schumacher have outperformed their counterparts from 15 countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Columbia, Japan and Australia. An impressive fifth (20%) of cars named in Germans' bets have finished where predicted - much higher than players' predictions from other countries.
The second most accurate players come from Spain, whose appetite for F1 has been whetted by the stunning Alonso, where 13% of the cars placed on GrandPrix.com finished where predicted. The next most knowledgeable were the players from Canada and Sweden - both with 7%. While players from the United Kingdom and Australia, the homelands of Red Bull Racing's David Coulthard and BMW Williams' Mark Webber respectively, managed an accuracy of 5%.
GrandPrixGame.com Managing Director Jon El-Kadhi said: "Players from Germany are by far the most knowledgeable. If I were a betting man I'd say that there's a very good chance of us having a German winner this weekend."

GrandPrixGame.com is the largest instant pools betting game created for the 2005 Formula One Grand Prix season. To win the open ended jackpot, currently more than £15,000 ($21,000) prior the qualifying rounds, the player must use their skill to predict which six drivers will be the first to cross the finish line. Each selection costs just £1, all of which is added to the GrandPrixGame.com jackpot, plus a call/web charge.
Selections can be made on the website www.grandprixgame.com right up to the start of the parade lap. If more than one player successfully predicts a race's outcome then the jackpot will be equally split. If no one wins, then the prize fund is rolled over.
