Genting Optimistic About Singapore Bid
SINGAPORE – As reported by Bernama: "Malaysia's Genting International, one of the four bidders still in the running to build Singapore's integrated resort in Marina Bay, has dismissed scepticism over its chances of winning the bid.
"Genting International's Chief Financial Officer Tan Hee Teck described its detractors as being 'inaccurate' and 'speculative' in their comments.
"…A gaming analyst Prof Bill Eadington had called Genting's bid for the Marina Bay integrated resort a 'long shot'.
"The report quoted Eadington as saying that although Genting had some advantages because of greater local knowledge of Malaysia and Singapore economic, political and cultural environment and knows the regional markets, 'these factors may not be enough to outweigh the relative strength of its American competitors'…"
