LONDON – As reported by Bloomberg: "Genting Bhd is buying London's Maxims Casino for £10.5mil (US$18.93 million), taking advantage of a probable relaxation of Britain's 40-year-old gaming laws to enter Europe.

"Genting UK would buy the Kensington-based casino from Gala Group Ltd, it said in a statement to Bursa Malaysia.

"…The company, which is facing increased competition in Asia, joins larger rivals such as Las Vegas-based MGM Mirage and Kerzner International Ltd of the Bahamas in hoping that Britain will open its US$3.8bil gaming market…"
