Full Tilt Poker's ANZPT Tour Ambassadors revealed at Queenstown stop
30 Jul 2013
When Jono Karamalikis discovered online poker, it ignited his passion for the game. As his interest grew, so did his bankroll, and he expanded his field of play onto the live felt – his career highlight to-date is taking down the 2012 Asia Championship of Poker High Rollers Event in Taipa for almost $480,000. With lifetime earnings of over $2,000,000, Jono is proud to represent Full Tilt Poker as a Tour Ambassador, joining some of the players he respects most.
New Zealand representative Liam O’Rourke started hitting casinos and racking up big wins online as soon as he turned 18. Since then, he has graced a number of high-profile tournament tables, including the 2012 ANZPT Sydney Main Event where he bagged second place. As an ANZPT regular, Liam is looking forward to mixing with fellow players – something he’ll no doubt be doing a lot of as a Full Tilt Poker Tour Ambassador.
After spending years in the world of academia, Tom Grigg turned his attention to poker. With a number of six-figure cashes under his belt from live tournaments – including a third place finish at last year’s ANZPT Melbourne Main Event – the Canberra native can’t wait to share his love for the game with local players.
As well as hitting the felt in the ANZPT Queenstown Main Event, the Tour Ambassadors will rub shoulders with Full Tilt Poker qualifiers during exclusive promotions and player activities. They will also play online at Full Tilt Poker as "Red Pros."
“Our ANZPT Tour Ambassadors represent everything Full Tilt Poker stands for,” says Dustin Iannotti, Full Tilt Poker’s Senior Manager of Pro, Celebrity & VIP Marketing. “They are talented players with a passion for constantly improving their skill set, supporting grassroots poker and spreading the word about the game.”
Jono, Liam and Tom are the final set of live event tour representatives revealed by Full Tilt Poker, joining those previously announced for the U.K. & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT), the Brazil Series of Poker (BSOP) and the Eureka Poker Tour. These players help Full Tilt Poker enhance the live poker experience and galvanize ties with both qualifiers and local players.
