Full Tilt Poker Player Wins Bracelet

12 Jul 2006

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -– (PRESS RELEASE) -- Full Tilt Poker's Allen Cunningham has joined an elite group of World Series of Poker champions by winning his fourth career WSOP bracelet for his victory in the $1,000 No-Limit Hold 'em with Rebuys tournament. After only 16 days into the 47 day event, Cunningham is the third Full Tilt Poker pro to win a 2006 World Series of Poker bracelet following Rafe Furst and Mark Vos.

Cunningham outlasted a field of 752 players and earned his bracelet after more than three hours of thrilling heads-up play against David Rheem. The win, which is his second in as many years, earned Cunningham a total of $625,830 and put him in position to defend his title as the 2005 ESPN/Toyota Player of the Year. Cunningham's victory came after his Ace-Queen held on to beat second-place finisher David Rheem's Jack-nine, ending more than three hours of spirited heads-up play.

In 2005, Cunningham picked up his third bracelet by winning the WSOP's $1,500 No-Limit Hold 'em tournament. With his most recent victory, Cunningham joins an elite group of WSOP Champions, including legendary players such as Amarillo "Slim" Preston, Puggy Pearson, Scotty Nguyen, and Full Tilt Poker's own Huckleberry Seed.

"By winning his second, large-field No-Limit Hold 'em event at the WSOP in as many years, Allen has proven that his name should be mentioned any time there is a discussion about who are the best players in the world," said fellow Full Tilt Poker pro Howard Lederer.
