FTOPS IX is off to a fast start
The ninth edition of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) is off and running after GARFIELD25 won the Event #1 on Wednesday and cashed in for $199,398.
FTOPS IX will feature a total of 25 events and, as usual, each one will be hosted by a Full Tilt pro. Six of the events will offer a guaranteed prize pool of at least $1 million, including the first event that drew 5,779 players and dished out $1.15 million in winnings.

In the FTOPS VIII, which was played in May, most of the prize pools were boosted well over their guarantees. The main event of that series was hosted by Jennifer Harman and drew in 4,750 players to take the $2 million guaranteed prize pool up to $2,370,000.
FTOPS IX's Main Event, a $500+$35 No-Limit Hold'em tournament, will be played on Sunday, Aug. 17 and will be hosted by 2000 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Chris "Jesus" Ferguson.
The other million-dollar-plus tournaments are Event 10 hosted by Erik Seidel on Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. Eastern, Event 12 on Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. Eastern hosted by Eli Elezra, Event 17 on Aug. 13 at 9 p.m. Eastern hosted by Peter Feldman and Event 22 on Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. Eastern hosted by Patrik Antonius.
Other events will also include Limit Hold'em, Omaha, Razz, Stud and H.O.R.S.E. hosted by the likes of Cyndy Violette, Greg Mueller, Andy Bloch, Max Pescatori, Scott Clements, Erick Lindgren and more. For a full schedule of events, visit Full Tilt Poker.
Each FTOPS IX champions will receive the top prize money from the event and will also win a limited edition gold FTOPS jersey and a special FTOPS champion avatar to use on Full Tilt Poker.
