FanDuel adds late swap feature
8 Sep 2016
FanDuel's late swap feature is in place for this weekend's Premier League matches and will apply to all of its one-day and weekend contests that cover matches with varying kick-off times. The new feature enables players to make changes to their fantasy football team lineup after the first matches have kicked off, provided any edits relate to fantasy players whose real time matches have not yet begun.
FanDuel, one of the U.K.'s most successful tech companies and already a household name in the U.S., launched one-day fantasy football games in the UK last month for the start of this year's Premier League season. FanDuel's fantasy football contests offer a faster-paced format than traditional season-long fantasy football, giving players the opportunity to enter a team, watch games and win in one day or weekend.
Karol Corcoran, Director of International Marketing at FanDuel, said: "The late swap feature is one that we were always planning to add to our contests, having listened to our users we realised that this was a high priority to them. When managers announce their lineups shortly before match starts, users can now swap out players in favor of others who are named in clubs' starting 11, optimizing their fantasy team's opportunity to perform well and rack up points."
FanDuel's one-day fantasy football is the company's first product offering outside the U.S. and Canada where it focuses on NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL - and its first for fantasy football. Available to play on both web and mobile, FanDuel's fantasy football contests are based on an 11-man team structure and a unique scoring system that reflects the contribution of every on-field player.
FanDuel launched in 2009 in North America, transforming the fantasy sports experience for millions of fans by condensing the traditional season-long format of fantasy sports into one day. Today, the company has over 6 million users.
FanDuel currently has a welcome offer that gives players a free entry of up to £10. Visit the website for more details.
