Estonian player becomes 4th Spin & Go millionaire of the week at PokerStars
27 Oct 2015
The $100 buy-in Spin & Go tournament (Tournament # 1,360,272,224) started at 10.43 PM Estonian Local Time (4.43 PM US Eastern Time, 8.43 PM GMT) on 26 October and concluded at 11.03 PM, creating the poker world’s newest millionaire after twenty minutes of poker play.
The runner up was ‘minargyuri’ from Hungary, who won $100,000. The third-place player was ‘KvicKiller’ from Czech Republic, who also won $100,000. The tournament was over in 57 hands of poker.
The defining hand was the 56th hand of the tournament, when the two remaining players – ‘minargyuri’ [Ah Th] and ‘barrakuuda4’ [4c 4h] were all-in preflop with a traditional race – except this one had a million first prize on the line. One seasoned poker railbird said, “I could barely stomach watching it,” as he watched the action unfold.
The board ran out [5s 3s Kd 9s 8s] so ‘barrakuuda4’ won 1440 out of 1500 chips in the tournament with a pair of fours – and then won the remaining 60 chips from ‘minargyuri’ on the next hand. A screenshot of that all-in race for the $1 million first prize is attached.
In addition to this tournament, there has been an unprecedented spate of instant millionaires made on Spin & Go tournaments this week:
-On 25 October, ‘prophethicks’ from England became a millionaire from a $5 Spin & Go tournament.
-On 22 October, ‘wrawras’ from Brazil became a millionaire from a $100 Spin & Go tournament.
-On 21 October, ‘Samara Lúcio’ from Brazil became a millionaire from a $5 Spin & Go tournament.
