DraftKings opens sportsbook at Boot Hill Casino and Resort
10 Mar 2023
The DraftKings retail sportsbook, inside the Boot Hill Casino & Resort, will offer customers a state-of-the-art experience to place bets on various sporting events while enjoying amenities within the space, including a 17-foot long LED video wall, several high-definition televisions, two cashier stations, four betting kiosks, comfortable lounge seating and a variety of food and beverage offerings.
“We’re thrilled to announce the opening of the new DraftKings retail sportsbook,” said Diane Giardine, general manager for Boot Hill Casino & Resort. “This is the place to be for sports fans, where you can watch your favorite games while enjoying a comfortable and entertaining atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming sports fans and creating unforgettable experiences for them.”
DraftKings and Butler National commemorated the grand opening of the new sportsbook with a two-day Boot Hill Casino & Resort celebration. The festivities included a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring DraftKings personnel, Kansas Lottery representatives, Boot Hill Casino & Resort representatives, GoJo podcast host and DraftKings Football Analyst Mike Golic Jr. and other special guests. Attendees enjoyed fun activities, a meet-and-greet with Mike Golic Jr., and the opportunity to place wagers at the betting kiosks and cashier stations inside the new sportsbook.
The celebration will continue Saturday, March 11, with additional events and guest appearances from former Kansas City Chiefs player Neil Smith, Kansas State University Football alumni Brian Goolsby and University of Kansas Men’s Basketball alumni Mitch Lightfoot.
“It’s exciting to see our shared vision of bringing DraftKings’ innovative mobile app to life with an in-person experience at our new DraftKings retail sportsbook located at Boot Hill Casino & Resort,” said Michael Kibort, Sr. Director, Retail Sportsbooks at DraftKings. “Through the amazing collaboration with Boot Hill Casino & Resort, we have created a one-of-a-kind destination for guests in the Dodge City area that we believe they will enjoy for years to come.”
After the Kansas legislature legalized sports betting in the state last year, Butler National Corporation, through its wholly-owned subsidiary that manages Boot Hill Casino & Resort, worked diligently with sports betting operators, such as DraftKings, and government officials to bring mobile sports wagering to sports fans in Kansas, as well as deliver an on-site sportsbook for guests of the casino to enjoy.
“We appreciate the efforts of the Kansas legislators, administration and, regulators for timely bringing this opportunity to Kansans. Consistent with our commitment to the Lottery, we believe that the DraftKings retail sportsbook will further promote tourism and travel to Western Kansas,” said Chief Operating Officer Chris Reedy, Butler National Corporation.
