8 Jun 2010
Sands had an impressive showing in Event #16, a No Limit Hold'em Six Handed event, ending the day in 7th place with 117,800 chips. DoylesRoom pro Hoyt Corkins sits in 82nd place of the same tournament with 37,300 chips.
Sands has already done well at the 2010 WSOP, winning $49,409 in Event #5 for an 8th place showing. Sands is competing with Daniel Kelly, Faraz Jaka and Michael Martin for the 7th spot on The Brunson 10, Doyle Brunson's team of extraordinary poker players.
The four online poker players will compete at this year's World Series of Poker for the top spot on the Brunson 10 Become a Legend Leaderboard. Each player will earn points every time they cash in any WSOP event. The player with the most points at the end of the series will be signed to Doyle Brunson's team of pros.
Also performing extraordinarily well in Event #15, a 7Card Hi/Lo Championship tournament, was DoylesRoom.com pro Allen Kessler, who ended Day 2 in 8th place with 316,000 chips. He resumes play today with a field of 18 remaining, well positioned to finish in the money.
Kessler has already cashed twice at the 2010 World Series of Poker. A 17th place finish in Event #7 earned him $7,663 and two days earlier he won $5,123 for a 39th place finish in Event #4.
