Detroit casinos report $107 million in July 2025 revenue

Table games and slot machines accounted for $106.0 million of the monthly total, while retail sports betting contributed $1.0 million.

Table Games and Slot Machine Revenue
Revenue from table games and slots decreased by 0.3% compared with July 2024 but increased 5.6% from June 2025. From 1 January through 31 July, combined table games and slots revenue was down 0.7% year-over-year.
Casino-specific revenues compared to July 2024 were:
- MGM Grand Detroit: $50.8 million, down 0.9%
- MotorCity Casino: $31.6 million, up 1.2%
- Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $23.6 million, down 0.9%
The three casinos paid $8.58 million in state gaming taxes in July 2025, down from $8.61 million in July 2024. They also submitted $12.6 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.
Retail Sports Betting Revenue
In July 2025, the casinos reported a combined retail sports betting handle of $5.7 million, generating $1.0 million in gross receipts. Qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) from retail sports betting increased by $1.4 million from July 2024 and 55.1% from June 2025.

The casinos paid $39,006 in state taxes from retail sports betting revenue and submitted $47,674 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit.

Fantasy contest operators reported $566,999 in adjusted revenues for June 2025 and paid $47,628 in taxes.
