Delaware Poker Championship V at Dover Downs on Labor Day weekend

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Crown Royal Poker Room will play host to the annual Delaware Poker Championship V tournament as part of Labor Day weekend on Saturday, Sept. 5 beginning at 11:15 a.m. The field will walk away with a guaranteed prize of at least $100,000, a unique trophy shaped like the state of Delaware, and bragging rights.

Registration is available in the Crown Royal Poker Room.

The $100,000 event is the marquee game in the middle of championship week, which runs from Aug. 31 to Sept. 7. Four other guaranteed tournaments include the Thursday, Sept. 3 game with $5,000 in guaranteed prize money and a $125 buy-in. The Friday, Sept. 4 game is a $150 buy-in with $20,000 in guaranteed prize money. The Sunday, Sept. 6 game is a $120 buy-in with $15,000 in guaranteed prize money, and Monday, Sept. 7 is a $5,000 guaranteed game with just a $35 buy-in.

“This is a special week that everyone looks forward to each year,” said Peter McGuire, Dover Downs Hotel & Casino poker room manager. “And it all kicks off with the two satellite tournaments, where it costs only $65 to buy in and each winner earns a seat into the big tournament on Saturday. Win and you’re in.”

The two satellite tournaments are slated for Monday, Aug. 31 and Wednesday, Sept. 2 at 7:15 p.m.
