Daniel Negreanu headlines 2018 Super High Roller Bowl final table

30 May 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The stage is set for yet another Super High Roller Bowl final table as Hall of Fame member and all-time money list leader Daniel Negreanu finds himself in a terrific position to win the biggest tournament of his illustrious career.

Final table action is set to get underway at 1 p.m. PT, 4 p.m. ET, 10 p.m. CET live on PokerGO.

The final six area lead by Belorussian Mikita Badziakouski with 4,205,000 followed by Negreanu with 4,000,000 and Justin Bonomo with 3,965,000. These three have created a massive gap with the other three, as Jason Koon with 1,185,000, Nick Petrangelo with 600,000 and defending champion Christoph Vogelsang sitting on 445,000 have a big deficit to overcome to content for the $5,000,000 first prize.

The remaining six are guaranteed a payout of $900,000 after Stephen Chidwick finished in seventh place for $600,000 and Seth Davies, the focus of the PokerGO Original series INSIDERS, busted on the bubble for $90,000. Davies was the recipient of the deposits made by the three players that ultimately withdrew from the event.

The third day of play started with 14 players, of which plenty of short stacks. Spain’s Sergio Aido was the first to go followed by Sam Soverel. With two tables remaining it was Stephen Chidwick who held the lead over Justin Bonomo, both seated at the outer table, while Daniel Negreanu held a commanding lead on the main stage.

Matt Hyman was eliminated in 12th place right before Mikita Badizakouski started an improbable run by doubling up through both Bonomo and Chidwick in the span of one level. The Belorussian pro grabbed the chip lead and stayed at the top until the final table was reached.

The Australian first-timer Kahle Burns busted in tenth place to Chidwick shortly before reigning Poker Masters champion Steffen Sontheimer busted in ninth place. After another two hours of play, it was Davies who busted in eighth place to bring the tournament down to its final table of seven. Davies ran pocket tens into the jacks of Jason Koon as he was left to collect the deposits made by Andrew Robl, Tony G, and Sean Winter.

After losing with kings to Badziakouski’s ace-jack, a very short stacked Chidwick was eliminated in seventh place holding ace-deuce versus Koon’s nine-eight.
