Crown Casino may need own paramedics
"On average, ambulances are called to more than one medical emergency a day at the casino precinct — and some Friday and Saturday nights, paramedics are called up to half a dozen times.
"More than 2000 ambulances have been dispatched to the gambling centre since 2003.
'"There are some nights I have been down there three or four times. On the odd occasion I've been down there five or six, and on other nights, I haven't been there at all,' intensive care paramedic Lindsay Bent said.
"...Mr Bent, who is in charge of sending paramedic teams to the casino area, said emergencies ranged from assaults to trauma caused by falls, heart attacks, asthma attacks and allergic reactions to food.
