Crab Sports partners with Internet Vikings in Maryland
4 Apr 2023
Since Crab Sports and Internet Vikings signed an agreement to work together in Maryland in July 2022 with the prospect of online sports betting launching at the end of 2022.
According to Rickard Vikström, Founder & CEO of Internet Vikings, entering the promising Maryland market was an immense opportunity for both companies. “The U.S. is one of the more recently opened and in-demand iGaming and online sports betting markets in the world. Both large multinational corporations with deep-rooted gaming history and brand new startups are all aiming to gain share in the American market. Participants need to be agile to carve their share.”
Vikström continues, “When there is the next state launch forecasted, it is crucial to prepare to enter in advance, before your competition is already there. That is why Internet Vikings invests in establishing its operations to be ready for clients from the very first day of each new U.S. state launch, and this is a strategy we will continue in the future.”
Crab Sports is a startup sportsbook that is nearing market entry in the attractive state of Maryland. The team brings a healthy background of gaming experience and has already built an impressive partnership network that they will look to build upon when they go-live in the near future.
Internet Vikings is a well-established online sports betting and iGaming hosting provider in the U.S. Having commenced U.S. operations in late 2020 the supplier is now live in almost every state where iGaming and/or online sports betting are legal.
As per the arrangement with Crab Sports, Internet Vikings is providing its specialized cloud hosting services to the recently founded sports betting brand.
Derek Baker, one of the founders of Crab Sports, is highly confident of launching the Crab Sports brand supported by the hosting services of Internet Vikings. “We quickly established a great rapport with Rickard and the team when considering our choice of hosting provider. As a startup company, it’s important to us that our partners are agile and willing to collaborate to find solutions. We have already made some tweaks to our hosting requirements since signing our agreement and the IV team has been excellent in working with us to accommodate our needs.”
“This is why we are here”, Rickard concludes, “to provide insights and support when expanding into the next U.S. state or when a new challenger brand such as Crab Sports establishes its operations for the first time.” He adds, “Flexibility is not optional for Internet Vikings, it’s at the core foundation of how our services function.”
