Churchill Downs CEO questions Chicago track's future

18 Jun 2010

CHICAGO, Illinois -- Fewer racing dates may be the future at Churchill Down's Louisville track, the Courier-Journal reported.

The future of Churchill Down's Chicago track was also called into question yesterday by Churchill's chief executive Bob Evans in an interview, the report said.

Evans said the company plans to review all four of its racetracks and admitted racing at tracks with no slot machines or other forms of gambling is becoming difficult to justify, The Courier-Journal reported.

The review will take much of the next year and will explore any potential for alternative gambling at the Arlington Park track, the report added.
