5. LeoVegas acquires gaming operator Royal Panda

With this acquisition, online gaming powerhouse LeoVegas strengthens its presence in the U.K., adding a strong brand to its lineup.

Royal Panda, which recently launched a sportsbook, owes about 50% of its revenue to U.K. customers.

4. Clarion Gaming announces iGB Live! event
This neat little event crams your three favorite bashes together to make one enjoyable Frankenstein's monster of a time.

iGB Live's creation is part of a push by Clarion to give stakeholders the opportunity to engage in events they don't normally have access to. Instead of having to globetrot, parties from all divisions of the gambling business can experience an abbreviated – but no less informative – version of each event.

3. Caesars Palace completes $100 million Palace Tower renovation
The list of places I want to visit but can never afford to grows longer by the day.

Caesars Palace's truly decadent renovation features 10 new villas stocked with luxurious amenities like stone bathrooms, a curated art program and 24K gold-plated plumbing fixtures. The villas even have powder rooms, which is just old-fashioned enough to lend a hint of whimsy.

Those lucky enough to rent one of these villas will also have access to a private elevator and around-the-clock butler service. (Prices start at $3,109 per night.)

2. Poker pro Phil Ivey loses $10 million case in UK Supreme Court
After several months of litigation, we can finally put an end to this chapter of gambling intrigue. Poker champ Phil Ivey was found by the U.K. Supreme Court to have indeed been cheating when he used a technique known as "edge sorting" during a game of Punto Banco five years ago.

Lord Hughes called it "a sting." Ivey says he would never act without integrity.
