Cambodia coastal casino sector struggling

VIETNAM -- Sihanoukville casinos and local businesses have failed to recover from a recent exodus by Chinese nationals, The Phnom Pehn Post reported.Chinese nationals, many of whom worked in the casinos, abandoned the area because they feared a crackdown on online casinos, the report said.
Online casinos are permitted to operate out of Cambodia's land casinos but a recent raid saw many casino workers arrested over what was described as a "transnational telecom extortion scheme" in the Phnom Pehn Post report.
