California Tribal Casino Buyout Ahead of Schedule

3 Feb 2005

COACHELLA, California – (PRESS RELEASE) -- It is a true Tribal gaming success story. The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians has successfully met goals set by the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act and has completed a planned buyout of Trump Casinos' management contract months ahead of schedule.

As part of the buyout agreement, the property formerly known as Trump 29 Casino has been renamed Spotlight 29 Casino. The name change takes effect immediately, and guests of the exciting property will soon begin seeing the new name across the casino.

Tribal Chairman Dean Mike said, "We enjoyed a very beneficial relationship with the Trump organization, and now we are excited to put the Spotlight on our guests."

The name change was part of a planned buyout of Trump's management contract of the casino. Spotlight 29 Casino General Manager Ray DelFiandra said, "The fact that the Tribe completed the final goal of buyout months ahead of schedule speaks to the success of the management contract and the relationship the two parties shared. Now with the new name, we are ready to move into the future, putting the Spotlight on fun and excitement."

The new Spotlight 29 Casino logo was officially unveiled at a press conference earlier today, and was announced as the Tribe is celebrating 10 years in the gaming business. Spotlight 29 Casino was the original name of the casino and was chosen to reflect a sense of the Tribe's successful business history.

Speaking to issues of timing, DelFiandra said, "It will take a little time before the new logo appears on everything, simply because of the incredible logistics involved in changing everything from the neon sign on the front of our building to the felt on the gaming tables. But make no mistake -- starting today, the Spotlight is shining brighter than ever in the desert."

Spotlight 29 Casino is located at I-10 and Dillon Road in Coachella. The casino is the Coachella Valley's most exciting place to play and is home to 2,000 slots, 30 table games, and a seven-table poker room. The 2,200-seat Spotlight Showroom presents the best in entertainment. Dining choices include the award-winning Rattlesnake Restaurant, Cafe Capitata and Food Court. Live entertainment hits the stage in the Blue Bar, and players can relax in the Rattlesnake Bar and Casino Bar.
