California side deal rejected

CALIFORNIA -- As reported by San Bernardino Sun :"The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has rejected a side agreement to its compact with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger that could jeopardize its right to install at least 5,000 more slot machines.
"San Manuel spokesman Jacob Coin said Thursday the nonbinding side agreements agreed to by the other four tribes set a bad precedent.
"...Under the amended compacts, the San Manuels would be authorized to put up to 7,500 more machines in their casino. The state's share in revenue would be $45 million a year to start, Coin said.
"...It was unclear what consequences the San Manuels face for not participating in the memorandum agreements the four other tribes signed off on this week..."
