Caesars, Harrah's Work at Reorganization

GULFPORT, Mississippi – As reported by the Biloxi Sun Herald: "Rumors are circulating that Caesars Entertainment's mid-south headquarters in Gulfport will close because of a corporate merger, but a spokesman for Harrah's Entertainment said the restructuring is still being mapped out.

"At stake are approximately 400 jobs. The concern is that Harrah's will close or downsize the corporate offices and move the jobs to Memphis where it has a regional headquarters.

"Gary Thompson, a spokesman for Harrah's, said a strategy must be devised before decisions are made about where offices will be located.

"…The integration team is operating independently from Harrah's in a separate building as it goes about its work. Harrah's currently has an eastern division headquartered in Memphis, a central division headquartered in Chicago and a western division in Las Vegas.

"…The company is conducting surveys to find out what customers like or don't like about casinos that operate under the Caesars, Harrah's and Horseshoe names. But the work of the integration team is not being shared yet with corporate executives because of sensitive issues related to the proposed merger…"
