Bush or Kerry's Cabbage Patch Goes to Space
ST. JOHNS, Antigua – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The President, George Bush and Senator John Kerry one-of-a-kind Cabbage Patch Kids have been purchased on eBay ($1,030 for President Bush, and $1,225 for Senator Kerry) by Internet casino GoldenPalace.com, who will send the winning candidate's doll into Space in the upcoming launch of the Ansari X Prize Wild Fire spacecraft.
The dolls were hand-crafted by Florida-based Play Along Toys, and bear a remarkable likeness to the candidates. Play Along has said that all proceeds from the auction will benefit the Red Cross. The toy company also agreed to match the winning bids up to $10,000.
"We are pleased to have the opportunity to raise funds for such a needy cause," said GoldenPalace.com CEO Richard Rowe. "With the recent hurricane-caused disasters in Florida, the Red Cross needs all the help and funding they can get and we're happy to do our part."
GoldenPalace.com recently made headlines with the announcement of the Golden Palace Space Program, powered by the daVinci Project. The program will launch a spaceship to sub-orbital space as part of the Ansari X Prize Competition; the winning candidate's doll will be part of this historic flight.
Other recent eBay purchases to raise money for charity were the Ellen DeGeneres Cabbage Patch Kid and the "Beckham Ball". These two items will accompany the winning candidate's doll into Space in order to increase their value, and they will subsequently be used to raise even more money for charity.
