British Punters Bet £8 Million on US Elections
UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the South Africa News 24: "British punters have bet £8m (US$14.7 million) on the outcome of the US presidential election, an absolute record surpassing all predictions, bookmakers said on Tuesday.
"'There will be up to £8m gambled on the outcome with British bookmakers, which is double what was bet at the last US election,' said a spokesperson for one of the biggest companies, William Hill: 'This has been the biggest betting foreign election we have ever known'.
