British MP signs bingo bond
5 Apr 2010
ENGLAND -- Support for Bingo has come from Labour MP Jim Dobbin (Heywood & Middleton) who signed a Bingo Bond, The Rochdale News reported.
MP's and candidates standing for election can sign the declaration and support the campaign to protest recent tax changes which are crippling bingo, the report explained.
The recent tax changes saw bingo tax increase to 22 percent, a situation that is considered intolerable by the bingo clubs, who are facing economically challenging times with clubs closing, according to The Rochdale News.
Bingo has been a long tradition with community benefits in England.
