Brandon Lang, Bodog.com Team Up

7 Oct 2005

COSTA RICA – (PRESS RELEASE) --Brandon Lang, the man who rocketed to fame as a sports handicapper, and Bodog.com, the company that revolutionized online entertainment, have teamed up.

In an agreement signed earlier this week, Lang and Bodog will work in conjunction to build a dynamic Bodog presence on his website BrandonLong.com. Lang is the subject of the Hollywood film Two for the Money, whose premiere was sponsored by Bodog.

"Teaming with Brandon Lang seemed like a natural for us," says Bodog Founder and CEO Calvin Ayre. "We're very excited to be working with one of the most successful handicappers in the world."

Lang's prodigious rise to handicapping stardom is chronicled in Two for the Money, which stars Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey (as Lang), and opens in theaters on Friday, October 7 th. In an exclusive interview with BodogNation, Lang spoke candidly about how he orchestrated the development of the movie about his life. As well, he discussed the ups and downs of picking games for a living.

"A gunshot wound to the heart" is how he characterized the feeling he gets when he gives bad advice at the worst time to a client who can't afford for him to be wrong.

In the article, Lang says he once went 2-for-12 on the biggest volume weekend of the NFL season and was strung by the ankles in Central Park by a client who lost plenty. He also says he has told his clients to "cut back" during his losing streaks and that he has a mantra all gamblers should learn to obey.

Two for the Money, which features a Bodog-owned restaurant in one of its pivotal scenes, is surprisingly true to his life, Lang says.

"The Brandon Lang exclusive demonstrates the breadth of BodogNation's coverage," says Ayre, the publisher of BodogNation. "The online magazine is an information resource for the gamblíng industry and for entertainment news. Our online magazine continues to add to our stature as a 21 st century media giant and proven leader in the Information Age."

Along with the article on Lang, BodogNation also features coverage of the Two for the Money red-carpet world premiere and a review of the film, as well as weekly analysis of the NFL, NCAA and Bodog Fantasy Football, and stories about poker and casino strategy. Soon Lang will join BodogNation as a contributor, providing analysis and against-the-spread breakdowns to readers of the magazine. Also, the magazine each month features a Bodog Girl as the subject of a photo editorial themed around a sports or entertainment event. Visit BodogNation for all the coverage.
