Bowmans Runs Handicapping Competition
LONDON, England – (PRESS RELEASE) -- It's that time of the year again; the 5th NFL world challenge of handicapping competition is upon us. Run by Bowmans International, the name to trust in wagering since 1985, the free-to-enter weekly competition starts September 1st and runs for the entire 2006 NFL season. The total cash prize fund is a staggering $110,000.
To make the competition more interesting than ever, Bowmans is offering a cash prize of $25,000 to the player with the most correct selections throughout the season, while second place wins $15,000 and third $5000. In fact, there are prizes for everyone who comes in the top 70! What's more, there is an end-of-season prize draw worth $10,000 and weekly prizes of up to $3,000.
Playing the game involves making eight point spread selections from the scheduled NFL games each week. Bowmans will post the point spreads for each week's games on its web site, Bowmans.com/handicap, every Tuesday, so players can make their predictions in time for the first game of the week. The deadline is three hours before kick off.
The player with the most correct selections each week wins $2,500 until the last week, when the top handicapper will win $3,000. Each player's results are accumulated over the whole season. Also, a random draw is held of all participants, of whom the winner receives $10,000. There's even a loyalty bonus of up to $100 for those players who play all 17 weeks of the competition. Pre-registration to the contest is now open.
Sara Waller, Marketing Manager of Bowmans, said: "Not only is the $100,000 prize fund this year absolutely fantastic but with the loyalty bonuses, the random draw and cash prizes paid all the way down to 70th place make this NFL world challenge of handicapping competition the best yet. Bowmans has done it again."
