Boomer’s Sportsbook opens at Ellis Island Casino Hotel & Brewery

(PRESS RELEASE) -- On Monday, 4 August, former Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman and his iconic showgirls were on hand for a ribbon cutting to mark the opening of the new Boomer’s Sportsbook at Ellis Island Casino Hotel & Brewery. Joining Oscar was current Mayor Shelley Berkley, along with Ellis Island Casino & Hotel CEO Gary Ellis and Boomer’s Sportsbook President & CEO Joe Asher.

The legendary Mayor Goodman made the ceremonial first bets - $250 on the Padres to win the World Series and $250 on the Raiders to win the Super Bowl and said that if the bets win, all winnings will be donated to charity. Mayor Berkley also bet on the Raiders to win the Super Bowl.

Boomer’s Sportsbook is the only independent sportsbook in Nevada, now operating at both Ellis Island and at Casino Valle Verde in Henderson. It also operates at the site of the old Commercial Casino in downtown Elko.
