Bookies Slash Odds Of White Christmas

UK -- As reported by The Guardian: "An icy blast of winter brought snow and sleet to parts of the UK yesterday and sent punters scurrying to the bookies to bet on a white Christmas.
"Bookmakers Coral yesterday cut the odds against snow falling on Christmas Day from 7-2 to 2-1 after a flurry of bets as snow, freezing temperatures and rain swept across the south and west of the country.
"The Met Office issued a severe weather warning, with heavy rain affecting many areas and snow falling in the west. Snow covered much of Wales and the Cotswolds overnight, while in Scotland the temperature dipped to -15C in parts of the Highlands.
"…For those who want a guaranteed white Christmas, however, a company that provides winter effects for films and television has launched a small-scale version for the home…"
