Bodog's Random Number Generator certified

21 Aug 2007

By Ryan McLane

Bodog Poker's Random Number Generator (RNG) was certified by the U.K.'s Gaming Associates this week, ensuring that each hand dealt was completely random and virtually impossible to predict.

"We've always prided ourselves on being the safest, most secure and customer service driven company in the industry," Bodog Entertainment Founder Calvin Ayre said. "It's our dedication to the safety, security and service given to Bodog's users that sets us apart from the competition and raises the bar for the industry as a whole."

Gaming Associates evaluated multi-player poker hands of Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Seven-Card Stud and Five-Card Stud using statistical testing and code inspection.

The tests found that the Bodog RNG "generated results which were uniformly distributed and statistically independent" and that "cards drawn for poker games were fair and not predictable."

Additionally, Gaming Associates "fingerprinted" the software so that ongoing verification was possible at any time.

An original copy of the certificate can be seen here.
