Bodog prepares to swarm 2008 WSOP
The Bodog Poker brand will be well-represented at the 2008 World Series of Poker as Calvin Ayre's empire started a promotion this week that will send 120 of its players to event that begins in Las Vegas on May 30 with the Main Event running July 3-16.
Three main-event satellites are being held on a weekly basis, every Tuesday (7:15 p.m. ET), Thursday (9:15 p.m. ET), and Saturday (3:15 p.m. ET). Each of these Main Event Semifinals will pay out with at least one $12,000 prize package for the main event. The $12,000 includes a $10,000 buy-in and $2,000 for travel expenses. The buy-ins for these tournaments are $250+20, but qualifiers, with buy-ins as low as $1, will also be held.
Each of the winners will become part of Team Bodog and will receive Bodog clothes, bags and "gadgets" as well as be escorted on their trip by a "personal handler to ensure" the players "play their best." In addition, the winners will get a VIP Players Lounge pass that will allow them to "hang out with the pros, meet the Bodog girls, get a massage and enjoy a little TV celebrity" as well as a chance to "party hard" each evening.
